IPv4 is the protocol most Internet services use today. Internet Protocol
Version 6 (IPv6) is the next generation IP address standard which will solve the problem of IPv4 address exhaustion.

Compared to IPv4, IPv6 provides larger address space. The length of an IPv6 address is 128 bits, compared with 32 bits in IPv4. The address pool of IPv6 is 7.9*10^28 times more, providing addresses for almost unlimited number of Internet-connected devices.

In addition to larger address space,  IPv6 has other advantages such as stateless address auto-configuration, simplified processing by routers, mobility.

As number of IPv6 addresses keeps growing, users can use a free network tool Who is Ipv6 in order to check Who Is information about IPv6 address. Other useful free network tools are: Who is IP, IPv6 calculator and converter, Domain Lookup, Who is Domain, DNS Lookup and more.
